Orange Delight Rolls

In early Spring alot of our fruit isn’t quite ripe, and the melons still have a few more
months until they are ready..but oranges are ready to be squeezed and eaten. Here is
a great brunch idea.

Sweet Orange Rolls

rolled up into a tin

Makes 8



31/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 pkg. rapid-rise yeast
1tsp salt
1/4 cup hot water (120* to 130*)
2large eggs
1/3cup butter,melted
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2tsp orange extract ( I used orange juice)
4TBL butter,melted and divided
1/2cup firmly packed brown sugar, divided
2 TBL orange zest, divided

1. In a bowl mix together flour, sugar, yeast, salt. Add hot water, eggs, 1/3 cup melted butter, sour cream
and orange extract; beat together until soft dough forms. Add more flour if needed to form a nice ball shape.
2. In another bowl, place a towel over your the bowl and let dough rest for 10 minutes.
3. Spray 8 muffin cups with nonstick spray. On a floured surface, roll out your dough 15×8 inch rectangle.
Brush with 2 TBL melted butter, then sprinkle with brown sugar and 1 TBL orange zest. Roll dough jelly
roll fashion. Place seam side down, and tuck ends under. Using a serrated knife, cut into 8 rolls.
Place slices into your muffin tins
4. Cover rolls with kitchen towel,and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or doubles in size.
5. Preheat oven to 350*. Uncover rolls, and bake for 9 to 10 minutes. or until golden brown.
6. Remove from oven to a wire rack, and drizzle with Orange Glaze while warm.


2cups confectioner’s sugar
1tsp orange zest
3to5 TBL orange juice

Mix together in a bowl.

Orange Goodness!!

These are a delicious springtime muffin. They are FULL of Orange flavor throughout
the roll. Serve them for breakfast or brunch, they will be gone before you get them
on the table.I served them right out of my muffin tin, or place them a beautiful
bowl to make your table look cheerful.
