Chocolate Cake & Love letters

Happy  Valentines Day!!

Homemade Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Syrup & Berries. This cake is SUPER moist and tastes unbelievably delicious. But don’t stop here… scroll down and read my favorite love letters.

Homemade Chocolate Cake

Adapted from Skinny Taste


1 1/2 cups sugar

3 tbsp canola oil

4 oz unsweetened apple sause

1 egg

2 egg whites

1 cup Hot coffee

3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

2 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup fat free milk

2 cups cake flour

1 pkg instant chocolate pudding

1 tsp salt

1 tsp baking powder

1 1/2 tsp baking soda

1/4 cup plain fat free Greek yogurt

spray oil for your pan


Preheat oven to 325     Lightly spray & flour your pan

In a large bowl cmbine flour, dry chocolate pudding mix, salt baking powder, and baking soda and set aside.

In a medium bowl combine Hot coffee with  the cocoa powder until it dissolves. Slowly add milk and vanilla extract. Set aside.

In another bowl mix together sugar and oil, mix together. Add applesauce and mix. Then add eggs  & egg whites.

Slowly add the wet ingredient into the dry. Last step add the Greek yogurt and stir all together.

Pour into your 13 x 9 pan and bake for 40 minutes or until you have a clean knife or toothpick.

Cut out your shaped cake with a cookie cutter, set on a pretty plate and drizzle with chocolate sauce. Top with some fresh berries.

    Yes, I love to go back and read them, some of them date back to 1988….so fun!!
