This recipe is for the bread lovers out there, you will completely fall in love with all the apples and banana’s in the recipe.
RECIPE
BANANA-APPLE BREAD
SERVING MAKES ON 9 INCH LOAF
Ingredients
1 stick plus 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter
at room temperature
2 tablespoons brown sugar (dark)
2 Granny Smith apples-peeled, cut into 1/2 inch dice
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground gloves
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup of sugar
2 large eggs
2 ripe banana’s, mashed
1/4 cup of orange juice
Directions
In a large skillet, melt 2T butter with the brown sugar. Add the the diced apples and cook on medium heat for about 10 minutes until soft. Add
1/2t of cinnamon, and 1/2t of vanilla, stir and set aside.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Using parchment paper line your 9×5 loaf pan. In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, salt, gloves
nutmeg and the remaining 1/2 t cinnamon.
In a large bowl, using a handheld electric mixer, beat remaining stick of butter with the granulated sugar on medium speed until light & fluffy.
Add eggs and mix until smooth. Add the banana’s , orange juice and the remaining 1t vanilla and beat until smooth. Add the dry ingredients and beat
on low speed untuik smooth. Then last add in your sauteed apples.
Pour bread mixture into your prepared loaf pan. Bake for 50minutes or until golden brown on top.
A nice touch is to slice some apples and saute them for 2 minutes and lay them on top of your bread batter.
This is my cat ‘Marly’, he was keeping the dogs away.
Hint…I love putting my banana’s (peeled) in the oven in a glass dish for about 15 minutes before putting them into the bowl, also cut your sugar in half
and substitute it for apple sauce.
